Please don't change that feature. The phone, along with other accents, helps the room to look like it was in a bed and breakfast. The phone it's self, is well built and functions well. I put it in the guest room.
Still, I'm very satisfied. I see the price has gone up. The only thing I didn't care for was that the programing buttons are so tiny, you can hardly see the printing on them. Thank you GE. I hate hunting for the right button to answer and hang up, usually in the dark. Like with automobile's, most phones have gotten so generic and even ugly, that I wanted something that might actually decorate the room and this fit the bill. I've gotten two complements on it already.
It was thirty something dollars when I made my purchase. I bought this phone because GE seems to be the only company that still has the (same) one button to make a call and end the call. Also I love the look of this phone. It's got just basic features and is simple to use.
Very different from all the industrial looking cordless phones. This phone is really cute. Sound quality is clear.
The adjustable volume doesn't go high enough, and there is a constant humming (ringing) tone in the background. Other than that, I was happy with the phone. If you are at all fussy about the sound quality of your phone conversations, this phone won't do you. I was very disappointed because of these two problems.
It's impossible, these days, to find the phone in black, so I had to purchase the white units. I'm hoping that this is due to a manufacturing supply issue rather than them no longer making this phone. The bad part about this review is that one of the 2 had a malfuction in the earpiece so I did have to return that one. It the best feeling cordless phone that I've used in years. I already owned 2 of this phone when I ordered 2 more. This is a mixed review of this product. The phone has good weight and actually feels like the mouthpiece and earpiece are the right distance away so that you don't need to slide the phone while talking and listening. But I quickly re-ordered a replacement.
Very basic as far as modern phones go, but that's the way we wanted this phone to be. Looks very nice and works well. We love it. Very good deal for the price. (Lower than it was before). Love the handset -- very similar to the old ones and nice for conversations minus the neck kink that you get with the new phones.
